The AD8250-EVALZ evaluation board is a versatile instrument for measuring signal bandwidths and signal-to-noise ratios of operational amplifiers and other linear ICs. It is designed as a multipurpose tool for studying the performance of linear ICs in industrial, consumer, scientific and medical applications, as well as for the development of new products or parts.The AD8250-EVALZ evaluation board is designed for testing and evaluating the performance of a wide range of op amps and other linear ICs and provides a versatile platform for experimentation and prototyping of different applications. The board can be configured to measure signal bandwidths and signal-to-noise ratios from DC to hundreds of kilohertz. It is suitable for evaluating frequency response, bandwidth, gain, distortion, noise, linearity, and other performance characteristics of op amps and linear ICs.The AD8250-EVALZ board features four instrumentation amplifiers, two with extremely low offset and gain errors, E1 and E2. This allows the user to control the gain and offset errors that may be encountered when testing the linearity of the op amp or other linear ICs. Two additional amplifiers, A1 and A2, are provided for measuring signal-to-noise ratios as well as for general purpose use.The board includes a three-position switch to select between single-ended, differential, and common-mode input signals, and a four-position gain switch for adjusting the gain of each amplifier. The gain selection ranges from zero to twenty-five times the nominal gain. The gain can be set to any value within a range that is appropriate for the linear IC being tested.The board includes circuit protection features to limit the power dissipation of the amplifiers and to protect against accidental short circuits. The board also includes thermal overload protection, allowing users to safely test linear devices under demanding conditions.The AD8250-EVALZ board is powered by a DC power supply, and its components are designed for operation over a wide temperature range. The board can be operated directly from the power supply, or from a floating battery if desired.In addition to the testing features, the AD8250-EVALZ board includes several design features to enhance its usability. The board includes special termination points that can be used to connect probes or other instruments, and can also be used for relay or other wiring connections.
