The AD8222ACPZ-RL is a low-noise, low-distortion, low-power, single-channel instrumentation amplifier designed to amplify a differential input signal in the presence of high common-mode voltage. The AD8222ACPZ-RL features adjustable gain, high common-mode rejection ratio (CMRR), wide bandwidth, and good power supply rejection ratio (PSRR). In addition to its exceptional performance, the AD8222ACPZ-RL is very easy to use, making it well suited for a variety of applications in the medical, industrial, automotive, and aerospace industries.

The AD8222ACPZ-RL amplifier operates on a single power supply ranging from +2.7 V to +5.5 V, where a 2.2 µV offset voltage is achieved. It contains a high-voltage differential complementary pair of PNP and NPN transistors and one PNP cascode transistor, which are connected to form a transimpedance amplifier (TIA). The device has a wide gain range of 0.05 V/V to 10 V/V and a high common-mode input range of -20 V to +20 V.

The AD8222ACPZ-RL has two input pins (IN+, IN-) and two output pins (OUT, GND). The input pins must be ac-coupled to the output pins to avoid dc offsets due to the CMRR of the device. A 0.1 µF bypass capacitor must be connected between the IN+ and GND pins for proper operation. The gain of the amplifier is set with an external resistor or through a resistor network between the EXC+ and EXC- pins.
