The AD8336 from Analog Devices is a high performance, low distortion, wide bandwidth variable gain amplifier (VGA) evaluation board. This board is ideal for applications where excellent signal performance can be achieved at high frequencies. The board provides an excellent way to test high-speed signal paths and the effectiveness of RF signal conditioners. In addition, the board provides a convenient platform to evaluate the performance of a range of low-noise op amps.
The AD8336-EVALZ provides an impressive bandwidth of up to 3GHz and a low distortion of 0.0005%. It also offers a reasonably wide gain range of 0 to 24dB. This gain range can be adjusted using the onboard controls, and can also be adjusted remotely using an application specific integrated circuit (ASIC). The AD8336-EVALZ also incorporates shutdown capability to optimize performance in low power situations.
The board can be used in a variety of applications, such as RF conditioning and microwave amplifiers.
