Data Acquisition - Digital to Analog Converters (DAC) are an essential component of data communications systems, controlling the conversion of digital signals into analog signals. The Analog Devices AD9102BCPZ is a high-performance, 12-bit, single-channel, 5.4 Gbps DAC that provides broadcasters, broadcasters and video conferencing services with an easily calibrated, low distortion and low jitter analog output suitable for high-definition digital video, TDM and SONET/SDH connections.
The AD9102BCPZ is suitable for many applications, including broadcast video and audio, consumer multimedia, professional multi-player and high-performance headends. The low thermal resistance and wide temperature operating range make it ideal for use in temperature-controlled environments and in a variety of challenging operating environments. In addition, this device utilizes precision voltage-controlled oscillators to provide low jitter and low harmonic distortion, resulting in a distortion-free digital audio and video output suitable for digital broadcasting and cellular applications.
The AD9102BCPZ features a three-step, single-step architecture with high-speed status feedback and output enable, ensuring accurate and reliable data acquisition in virtually any environment. The device uses a dedicated electrical ground, an optional board-level trimming mechanism, and quiet low-noise design for significantly improved performance and low distortion. It has a linear sigma-delta modulator with differential status indicator and address bus for providing control of simulated DC levels.
The AD9102BCPZ has a fast 2.9Msps data rate with a 18-bit resolution suitable for broadcast, professional and consumer audio-video applications. It includes two-channel digital input up to a maximum of 16-bit per channel and has an adjustable 10-bit offset resolution. There is a zero latency and very low system latency mode that allows for greater flexibility when creating multiple output streams.
The AD9102BCPZ also has an internal clock synthesizer that controls the sampling rate and accuracy of the output signal. It can be used to generate an accurate output frequency with two fixed master oscillator frequencies.
