The AD9121BCPZ is a high-performance, high-speed, 16-bit digital-to-analog converter (DAC) with 1.8V analog output range. This low power DAC, designed to fit into small form factor boards, is provided in a space-saving 16-lead, 3-by-3 mm LFCSP package. Its low power dissipation of only 470 mW enables it to fit into handheld battery-powered applications and systems with extremely low heat. With up to 80 dB spurious-free dynamic range and an 1100 MHz full-power bandwidth, this DAC is perfectly suited for a wide range of applications such as medical imaging, communications systems, consumer and professional audio, industrial control, test and measurement systems.
The DAC includes an on-chip, low power, low jitter clock multiplier PLL, which simplifies the external circuitry and reduces the cost of the system. In addition, it features an on-board leap-head DAC calibration, which eliminates the need for external resistors for DAC gain setting.
The AD9121BCPZ supports a range of reference voltage levels from 0.1 to 1.8V and provides an output voltage range of 0 to 5V. It also has a differential output, which can be used to drive external transceivers with extremely low power dissipation and crosstalk.
