The AD9211-250EBZ is a complete high-speed analog-to-digital converter (ADC) evaluation board from Analog Devices. It is designed to demonstrate the features and performance of the AD9211 250 MSPS, 14-bit single-channel ADC for wireless base station receivers and other communications systems.
AD9211-250EBZ includes the AD9211 analog-to-digital converter, a pulse detector, level shifter/limiter, baseband filter, and a sample-and-hold device. The pulse detector allows the AD9211 to directly convert the differential pulse-shaped receive signal to a digital one, without needing an external antialiasing filter. The low-cost level shifter/limiter is suitable for wideband applications, and operates with supplies from either 3.3 V or 5 V. The on-board filter is a two-pole, fourth-order passive Sallen-Key filter with a cutoff frequency of 15 GHz. This bandwidth covers the receive signals used in most base station receivers, and provides additional response control.
The AD9211-250EBZ is ideal for applications such as wireless base station receivers, 4G/5G mobile infrastructure systems, FTTX optical networks, and wireless communication systems. The AD9211-250EBZ features a full-scale output of 250 MSPS data rate, and is capable of data rates up to 700 MSPS. It has excellent linearity and low distortion, and supports power-down/deep-sleep modes for increased power efficiency. The board has a small form factor, and is designed to fit into existing systems with minimal board space.
The AD9211-250EBZ works by converting the analog input signal into a time-sampled digital signal that can be stored and processed by digital systems. The board consists of an input signal connector, a pulse detector, a level shifter/limiter, an active filter, a sample-and-hold device, and the AD9211-250EBZ analog-to-digital converter.
