The AD9649-20EBZ is an evaluation board for Analog to Digital Converters (ADCs). This board is designed to allow evaluation of the AD9649-20 ADC, providing basic functionality to evaluate the operation of the device. The evaluation board harbours the AD9649-20 ADC along with all necessary support components and connectors for an easy start up to evaluate performance of the device.
The AD9649-20EBZ evaluation board is designed to provide a comprehensive test platform for evaluating the features and performance of the AD9649-20 ADC. It comes with reference circuits, PC software, and cable. The entire board is mounted on a high-quality certified FR-4 board measuring 90 mm x 64 mm x 1.6 mm. The AD9649-20EBZ evaluation board harnesses ADI’s latest ADC technology to achieve better than ANSI 12-bit accuracy, and STMicroelectronics’arm CortexTM-M0 processor core for quick and easy development of data transfer into PC.
The working principle behind the application of the AD9649-20EBZ evaluation board is a pipeline A/D (analog-to-digital) conversion based architecture. The pipeline A/D architecture makes use of a successive approximation register (SAR) coupled with multiplexer channels for sample-and-hold and control from the analog and digital controls. The AD9649-20 operates in two modes: synchronous conversion mode and asynchronous conversion mode. The asynchronous mode maximizes effective data throughput while the synchronous mode, with its double sample-and-hold, provides a stable conversion result.
The AD9649-20EBZ is capable of providing a wide range of features that helps in enhancing the performance and usability of the system. It operates with a maximum sampling rate of 20MSPS and supports a wide range of input clock frequencies, allowing for flexible and adjustable sampling frequency. The AD9649-20EBZ comes with two power supplies (3.3V and 5V) that support a conversion range of 0V to 3.3V. It also supports a wide bandwidth, from DC to 200 MHz, making it suitable for applications that require reliable and accurate data transfer.
