AD9777BSVZ is an advanced, low power, digitally programmable dual 16-bit Digital-to-Analog Converter (DAC) which features a wide operational voltage range of 1.65 V to 3.6 V, wide temperature range of -40°C to +125°C, and excellent noise and distortion performance.The AD9777BSVZ is designed to provide high resolution and low noise performance, while minimizing power consumption in low voltage applications such as battery-powered systems. The AD9777BSVZ features low power shutdown and sleep modes as well as internal reference buffers allow operation with external and internal references.The AD9777BSVZ enables any voltage to be programmed into virtually any resolution up to 16 bits accurately. Additionally, the AD9777BSVZ has the capability to program two 16-bit DACs in quadruple-buffered and double-buffered modes or in combined double-buffered and non-double-buffered modes.Applications of AD9777BSVZ involve data acquisition, seismic acquisition systems, audio systems, industrial process control, medical imaging, telecommunications, analog signal conditioning, and motor control.The working principle of the AD9777BSVZ is based on the current input method. The voltage output is produced by a reference and transfer capacitor pair, along with the current sources in the DAC. A linear relationship is established between the applied current and the voltage output of the DAC.The first stage of the DAC includes a double-buffered, differential current input register. The current from the register is amplified by a precision current mirror and then passes to the transfer and reference capacitors.The reference capacitors connected to a reference voltage (VREF) serve to generate the current through the transfer capacitors. The transfer capacitors are charged or discharged to their final value. When the CSL input goes high, the data stored in the input register is transferred into the DAC and then the output voltage begins to settle. The settling time can be adjusted by adding a resistor in series with the reference voltage. The settling time also depends on the size of the transfer capacitor, the reference voltage, the current output of the DAC and the amplitude of the voltage being programmed.The AD9777BSVZ consists of precision current reference buffer, reference capacitor transfer amp, output amplifier, and OT9 terminal. The current reference buffer is used to maintain a constant reference current, ensuring a high degree of accuracy and stability of the output voltage.To ensure good distortion performance, a low-noise and high-speed, low-power output amplifier is integrated in the AD9777BSVZ. This output amplifier is DC-coupled and can drive up to 100mA. The OT09 terminal allows for external connection for increased capacitance for extended settling times.Overall, the AD9777BSVZ is an advanced, low-power, digitally programmable, dual 16-bit Digital-to-Analog Converter (DAC). It is capable of producing accurate voltage outputs in various applications, requiring low-noise, low-power performance from a 16-bit DAC.
