The ADA4000-2ARMZ is an instrumentation amplifier for use in high precision data acquisition systems. It is designed for very high accuracy measurements, with a maximum gain of 4.0V/V (4.00/V) when configured for 2-Arm operation. It is capable of wide bandwidth operation and low noise operation, making it suitable for high speed applications such as pulse response measurements, thermal imaging, and seismic monitoring.
It features high common mode rejection ratio (CMRR) and low output temperature coefficient. The ADA4000-2ARMZ is a two-arm differential amplifier, with the two arms each from a separate power supply (V+ and V-). This allows for the introduction of a DC offset or bias voltage on the input which is not present on the output. The amplifier comes pre-programmed with four gain settings: 1, 2.5, 4, and 8. It also features a programmable bandwidth filter, to help eliminate noise in the output.
The input stage of the ADA4000-2ARMZ consists of two differential open-loop Transconductance Amplifiers (TCA) and one common-mode gain control resistor. The TCA helps to ensure the common-mode output voltage remains at the same level as the input voltage, while the gain control resistor is used to set the appropriate common-mode gain. The differential amplifier is then configured to provide a gain of up to 4.0V/V when set to 2-arm operation.
At the output stage, the ADA4000-2ARMZ consists of two precision zero-drift voltage buffer amplifiers and two precision output buffers. The zero-drift amplifiers reduce the total input offset caused by device and environment variations, allowing for stable measurements over a wide range of environmental conditions. The output buffer amplifiers provide the necessary gain- and phase-matching for high accuracy measurements.
