ADC10221EVAL Evaluation Boards - Analog to Digital Converters (ADCs)
Every increasingly complex system requires additional analog to digital converters (ADC) to ensure accuracy and precision in its data acquisition process. The ADC10221EVAL board is a complete evaluation platform designed to help engineering and laboratory professionals explore the capabilities and features of a wide range of ADCs for industrial and scientific applications. This board allows users to quickly assess the performance and reliability of the converter for their developers tasks.The ADC10221EVAL board is based on the state-of-the-art, 10-bit, single-channel ADC from Texas Instruments, the ADC10220. This board is designed to provide a complete set of evaluation features, including four-channel digital inputs, voltage reference generator, and a pulse-width modulation signal. It also contains a single-ended output amplifier which is used to drive a display driver IC.The ADC10221EVAL board utilizes an internal voltage reference generator. This voltage reference generator ensures that the input signals are accurately converted to digital values. The gain and offset of the input signal can be adjusted by turning the gain and offset adjustment potentiometers. The power to the board is supplied through a 9Volt power adapter while the analog signals are connected through four BNC connectors. Theon-board AC-coupled 50 kΩ termination resistors are used to terminate the input signals.The board uses four independent digital inputs for signal processing control. The digital interface is provided through two 50-pin flat ribbon cables, and each of the four channels can be efficiently used together for a total of eight digital input channels. A pulse-width modulation (PWM) signal is also available on the board which can be used to control the gain and offset of the input signals with varying levels.The ADC10221EVAL board also contains an output amplifier, which allows users to drive a display driver IC, such as a dot-addressable LED display. The user can adjust the amplifier\'s gain and offset, and the corresponding gain and offset setting will be displayed on the LED display.
