AD5043-169-2-GEVK is an evaluation board by ADI which allows interfacing with other components. The board has a built-in RF Input/Output feature which enables users to maintain a wide range of devices and quickly identify any faults in the product being tested. The strategy of the Evaluation Kit is to use the microcontroller and control the process of the test subject. All the input control, such as frequency selection, output power control, signal type selection, can be handled through the USB connection to the microcontroller. The user then selects the desired control parameters through the user interface, after which the hardware will take control of the process and generate the output.

The board features two RF output channels which provide up to +20dBm of output power each. This allows for high level measurements as well as for testing low noise amplifiers and other components that require high dynamic range. The board is also capable of synthesizing radio signals with up to 50 MHz of bandwidth. Additionally, an 10 MHz reference clock input is provided for accurate sweep/measurement.

In terms of physical characteristics, the board has a top side which can accommodate two SMA connectors. At the bottom side, all the other components and circuitry is provided in an enclosed casing. It includes a power supply, a PLL IC, an RF switch, and other components responsible for various functions such as amplitude control, bias setting control, phase control, etc.
