ADM208ARZ-REEL is a high speed, low power transceiver of optical communication networks. It provides a tow-pin unidirectional differential data interface with data rates up to 12 Mbps. The transceiver is ideal for applications such as optical fiber local area networks, high speed digital audio, digital video, and radio applications. It is suitable for embedded applications where reliability, low power consumption and high bandwidth are required. The device is housed in a standard 14-pin small-outline integrated circuit (SOIC) package.
The ADM208ARZ-REEL has a two-channel unidirectional differential data interface which includes an output driver, a receiver, and a two-channel unidirectional receiver. The device uses optical couplers to provide optical isolation between the two differential lines. The input of the output driver is connected to the input pins of the receiver and the output of the receiver is connected to the output pins of the output driver. There is also an optional loopback feature which can be used to test the transceiver. The transmitter and the receiver use a pulse-width modulation (PWM) technique to transmit and receive data.
