The ADM6710F-TESTRL7 is a device designed by Analog Devices, Inc. that is used to provide supervisory and power management functions in many applications. It is a polyphase power supply supervisor that can monitor and control up to 11 voltages and has integrated undervoltage lockout for each of the supplies. The ADM6710F-TESTRL7 has two different types of output: cycle-by-cycle and supervisory. The cycle-by-cycle output, also referred to as the ‘run enable’, is activated only when all of the monitored supplies are within their permissible voltage range. The supervisory output is activated whenever any of the monitored supplies is outside its permissible range. This output can be used to trigger an external event, for example, disabling the system or entering into a low power state.

The ADM6710F-TESTRL7 can detect if any of the monitored supplies have exceeded the set threshold or have fallen below the set threshold. This power down sequence can be configured in four different modes: manual, pulse, inhibit and automatic. The inhibit mode disables all supplies once any of them exceeds its threshold and will remain disabled until the administrator manually enables them. The automatic mode enables the ADM6710F-TESTRL7 to automatically power cycle the system whenever any of the monitored supplies are outside the set range.

The ADM6710F-TESTRL7 features a powerful array of diagnostics to monitor the voltage outputs of the system. It has an array of onboard temperature sensors, voltage monitors, and a watchdog timer. The temperature sensors can be programmed to either alert the system operator if the temperature has exceeded the set threshold or to shut down the power supply if the temperature is too high.
