The ADM709MAR is a power management integrated circuit (PMIC) that can be used to provide superior protection against overtemperature conditions, voltage spikes, and other faults that may damage the system. It is a low voltage supervisor which can detect faults in the power supply and maintain power when needed. The ADM709MAR is a cost-effective, space-saving solution for protecting circuit boards and systems against over-temperature, over-voltage, and reverse polarity conditions.

The ADM709MAR is a low voltage supervisor that provides reliable power supply protection from over-temperature, over-voltage and reverse polarity conditions. The device monitors the system voltage and accurately trips before any damage to the power supply or system can occur. It triggers a circuit reset when the monitored voltage exceeds a pre-set level, thus reducing system costs by preventing component blowouts and simplifying system debugging. It is available in several different packages and is suitable for small size applications.

The ADM709MAR utilizes ultra-low leakage current, 65mV typical, to minimize power consumption and enable precision monitoring. It offers low operating voltage levels and high surge immunity. It integrates several safety features including internal reset circuitry, watchdog timer, under voltage detector, and fail-safe sequence.

The ADM709MAR offers an open-drain reset output and a complementary TTL reset output. The TTL reset output is active-low and is used primarily for system-wide reset. The reset timeout on the TTL output is factory programmable for setting the timing of the reset pulse.

The ADM709MAR provides an alarm output with a threshold set by an internal voltage reference and an external voltage divider. The alarm output is an open-drain output with a hysteresis to provide a reliable detection of fault conditions. It features an adjustable threshold range of 0.15V to 10.0V and a low voltage condition window of 0.3V to 7.0V.

The device includes an overtemperature comparator, adjustable trip point, and open-drain output. The temperature trip point can be adjusted to a maximum of 135°C.
