The two most common operating modes of the ADM709RANZ are Watchdog Timer mode and Configurable Watchdog mode. In the former, setting the GPO2 pin to a low state will toggle the Overshoot Reset. In the latter, the ADM709RANZ can be used as an external peripheral to reset the core processor if it does not respond with in a preset interval.To reset the device, the user has to issue a Low Timeout Override (LTO) command. This command causes the ADM709RANZ to reset the external processor and enter standby mode until the watch timer expires or the system is reset. The ADM709RANZ also monitors fluctuating system power conditions, releasing reset pulses or warning signals when the voltage moves out of the predetermined range.Conclusion
