The ADM811ZART-REEL7 is a micropower voltage supervisor specially designed for battery powered applications. It provides system reset and power supply monitoring for one and two-cell Lithium Ion Battery (Li+/Li-) and three-cell Nickel Cadmium/Nickel Metal Hydride/Alkaline battery (NiCd/NiMH/Alkaline) systems. The ADM811ZART-REEL7 is designed with an open drain active low RESET pin that is asserted when VCC is below the power supply reset threshold (predefined at 1.5V, 2.63V, 2.8V, or 5.5V). The RESET pin is low when the device is activated, and is released after the power supply recovers from under-voltage condition.

The ADM811ZART-REEL7 features low supply voltage range from 1.4V to 5.5V, extremely low quiescent current of 400nA, wide reset input voltage range from 1.25V to 5.5V, operating temperature range from -40 to +125 °C and same pin-out across all packages. It also offers superior immunity to 12V electrostatic discharge and achieves ±9kV air-gap and ±8kV contact discharge. This makes the ADM811ZART-REEL7 suitable for cell phones, PDAs, portable music players and other battery powered applications.

The ADM811ZART-REEL7 is available in a 2-Lead SC70 and a tiny 2-Lead SOT-23 package, making it an ideal device for space-constrained and portability applications. In addition to RESET pin, the ADM811ZART-REEL7 also contains an output enable pin, an input voltage monitor/status pin, and power hold-off pin. The output enable pin is used to enable or disable the RESET pin. The power hold-off pin is a low active pin providing the user a means to power down the device during standby.
