Optical sensors such as Ambient Light, IR and UV sensors are present in a wide variety of applications. One of these applications is the ADNS-7700-HCMY, an ultra-sensitive, high-resolution, low-noise optical displacement sensor. The ADNS-7700-HCMY is designed to accurately measure the dynamics of motion in real-time.
The primary advantage of the ADNS-7700-HCMY is its high resolution and sensitivity. It is capable of detecting precise motion of objects as small as 0.5 microns in displacement, and static displacement up to 10 microns. Its unique design also enables operation over a wide range of temperature. The combination of its high resolution and wide temperature range makes the ADNS-7700-HCMY an ideal choice for a variety of applications.
The ADNS-7700-HCMY uses a highly integrated optical measurement technology called “Quadrant Photodiode Array” (QPA). This technology uses four separate photodiodes and four associated amplifiers to measure velocity, displacement and acceleration. The four-channel design enables the ADNS-7700-HCMY to accurately measure all three parameters in a single signal. Additionally, an integrated temperature sensor allows accurate temperature compensation.
The QPA technology works by measuring the changes in intensity of the light reflected off of a surface as the surface moves. Each of the four photodiodes measure the intensity of the light in one of four quadrants. When the surface moves, the light that is reflected off of it will change intensity depending on its movement. This data is then used to calculate displacement, velocity and acceleration.
The diameter of the active sensing area of the ADNS-7700-HCMY is 15.2mm, which enables it to be used in applications ranging from small robotic and medical applications, to larger industrial and automotive applications. Additionally, the ADNS-7700-HCMY has a maximum dynamic range of 54,000 counts per second, making it one of the most accurate optical displacement sensors available.
The ADNS-7700-HCMY is a versatile, high-performance optical displacement sensor that can be used in a variety of different applications. With its high resolution and wide range of temperature, it is an ideal choice for medical, robotic, and industrial applications. The unique QPA technology enables accurate measurement of displacement, velocity and acceleration in a single signal, making it one of the most accurate optical displacement sensors available. Together, these features make the ADNS-7700-HCMY an ideal choice for a wide variety of applications.
