If a large number of such non-sinusoidal waveforms are superimposed, the waveform of the total system\'s current would be asymmetrical, causing an imbalance in the supply voltage. ADP1048ARQZ-R7 is a 3-phase PFC controller designed to support heavy-duty applications operating over wide line, load, and temperature ranges. ADP1048ARQZ-R7 provides significant system-level improvements including current harmonic obligations, total harmonic distortion (THD) optimization, circuit protection, and stable performance under heavy load and low power factor conditions.It features a trickle-mode control loop with excellent current matching and a long-term transient response feedback loop.The DC output voltage regulation can be side-controlled via a digital input, or internally-controlled via the resistor divider. Besides, a wide range of protections are built in to protect the PFC circuit from damage under critical fault conditions.
The working principle of the ADP1048ARQZ-R7 is based on the principle of power factor correction. When the PFC circuit is switched on, the AC mains voltage is rectified, converted to DC and stored in a smoothing capacitor.By constantly measuring the main current and comparing it with the sinusoidal reference derived from the AC mains voltage, the power factor correction circuit is able to feed back and adjust the voltage to the power factor correction stage.
