Working Principle

The ADP1878 utilizes a 3-channel synchronous Buck converter to provide high-efficiency voltage conversion. It operates under a fixed frequency switching scheme, which minimizes the total harmonic distortion (THD) and reduces the noise level of the power system. The 3-channel synchronous Buck converter can be operated in two different modes:1) Current Share Mode: In this mode, each individual output is controlled by an independent Buck controller. The Buck controllers are shared among the different outputs, and the current through each output is divided among them. This allows for a more efficient operation and improved line and load regulation.2) Synchronous Mode: In this mode, all outputs are connected to the same Buck controller and are operated in parallel.
