ADS1203IRGTTG4 application field and working principle
The ADS1203IRGTTG4 is an integrated signal conditioning system for magnetic field sensor measurement. It integrates signal conditioning with high resolution analog-to-digital converter (ADC) and programmable digital signal processor (DSP), allowing a single chip solution for a variety of applications such as tilt sensing, magnetic field monitoring, current sensing and microwave signal detection.The ADS1203IRGTTG4 is based on a 12 bit resolution, Delta-Sigma (Δ–Σ) ADC that features programmable gain and a flexible programming architecture to meet the requirements of different applications. The device has a throughput up to 15 samples per second and is able to measure a range of up to ±2500 mGauss (±25 G) with accuracy of ±0.5%. Every Δ–Σ AD converter following the zero-crossing principle of operation. The signal is chopped by a modulator, the output of the modulator is then integrated over one period of time and sampled by the ADC converter. These binary numbers are then converted into analog representation, which is also referred to as a scaler output.The device utilizes a programmable gain amplifier (PGA) to amplify the input voltage and converts it into a digital signal. Next, the signal is chopped and digitally converted into a series of binary numbers. These binary numbers are then converted into analog representation by a digital-to-analog converter (DAC). This analog representation is also referred to as scaler output.The scaler output is then further processed by the programmable digital signal processor (DSP) to determine the actual input voltage or current.
