ADS1224EVM is an evaluation board designed to quickly evaluate Texas Instruments’ ultra-low power, low voltage, delta-sigma A/D converter. It can be used in battery powered applications such as portable medical equipment, industrial process control, or smart meters, and is ideal for long-term monitoring and recording. The ADS1224EVM board is composed of a 24-bit delta-sigma analog-to-digital converter (ADC) with integrated low noise programmable gain amplifier (PGA), low pass filter as well as temperature sensor.Application Field
ADS1224EVM is suitable for applications like long-term recording of data with very low noise levels and high resolution. It can be used in applications such as medical, industrial, automation, and communication applications where power consumption and accuracy are important. The working principle of ADS1224EVM is based on a differential input delta-sigma converter, which is a type of continuous-time analog-to-digital converter. The input of the ADC is fed into the delta-sigma modulator, and the output of the modulator is fed into a low-pass filter. The low-pass filter then moves the digital output from the modulator and converts it into a digital signal.The analog input signal is fed into the differential input of the delta-sigma converter and the signal is amplified by the pre-amplifier. The amplified signal is then fed into the delta-sigma modulator, which performs sampling and analog-to-digital conversion of the signal.
