The ADS1294.ADS1296，ADS1298RIZXGT area family of multichannel, simultaneous sampling24-bit, delta-sigma (A>) analog-to-digital convertersADCs) with built-in programmable gain amplifiers(PGAs), internal reference, and an onboard oscillatorThe ADS1298RIZXGT and ADS129xR incorporate all of thefeatures that are commonlyrequired in medicaelectrocardiogram (ECG) and electroencephalogram(EEG) applications. With high levels of integrationand exceptional performance, the ADS1298RIZXGT andADS129xR enables the development of scalablemedical instrumentation systems at significantlyreduced size, power, and overall cost.The ADS1298RIZXGT and ADS129xR have a flexible inputmultiplexer (mux) per channel that can bendependently connected to the internally-generateosignals for test, temperature, and lead-off detectionAdditionally, any configuration of input channels canbe selected for derivation of the right leg drive (RLDoutput signal. The ADS1298RIZXGT and ADS129xR operateat data rates as high as 32 kSPS, thereby allowingthe implementation of software pace detection. Lead.off detection can be implemented internal to thedevice, either with a pullup or pulldown resistor, or anexcitation current sink or source. Three integratedamplifiers generate the Wilson central terminal (WCTand the Goldberger central terminals (GCT) requiredfor a standard 12-lead ECG. The ADS129xR versionsinclude a fully integrated, respiration impedancemeasurement function. Multiple ADS1298RIZXGT andADS129xR devices can be cascaded in high channelcount systems in a daisy-chain configuration. Package options include a tiny 8-mm x 8-mm64-ball BGA, and a TQFP-64. The ADS1298RIZXGT BGAversion is specified over the commercial temperaturerange of oC to 70C. The ADS129XR BGA and ADS1298RIZXGT TQFP versions are specified over theindustrial temperature range of -40°C to +85°C.
