Data Acquisition - Analog Front End (AFE)The ADS131A02IPBS is a data acquisition (DAQ) analog front end (AFE). It is capable of effectively digitizing small input signals and is designed for use in a variety of industrial, medical, and consumer applications. In the context of data acquisition and analog front ends, AFEs provide an electronic interface between an analog signal and a digital signal processor or computer. By leveraging integrated pre-amplifier, analog-to-digital (ADC) conversion, and digital signal conditioning functions, AFEs reduce the board space, power consumption, and costs associated with discrete data acquisition systems.The ADS131A02IPBS provides an integrated analog signal conditioner with an integrated low-noise instrumentation amplifier, signal isolator, programmable gain amplifier (PGA), and an 8-channel 24-bit SAR ADC. In addition, it features high signal-to-noise ratio of 97.7 dB in the DC mode and 102.8 dB in the AC mode. It has two differential (or two single-ended) analog inputs and two reference inputs, which allows it to accurately digitize small signals even in noisy environments. Moreover, it provides error-free signal transmission in all data conversion modes between its two differential inputs, regardless of the common mode voltage and the DC offset of the input signals.The ADS131A02IPBS is designed to operate over a wide input voltage range of 10 mV to 5.5V, with minimal power consumption of only 300µW. It also features a noise immunity feature which helps to reduce noise interference from external sources. Additionally, it supports both Single cycle conversion and Continuous Charged Conversion (CCC) mode for multiple data conversion.The ADS131A02IPBS application field is continuous monitoring and measurement of small signals, such as in medical and industrial applications. Such applications include pressure, flow, acceleration, temperature, and other non-invasive monitoring of dynamic and static measurements.
