Working Principle

The ADUM1286BRZ working principle involves transferring digital signals from one side to the other via capacitively coupled dual-channel low-voltage silicon monolithic isolated MOSFET (SMIFET). The SMIFET utilizes an isolation barrier to block and isolate potential hazardous voltage levels on either side of the communication channel. Incoming digital signals are transferred across the device via capacitive couplers, allowing the device to achieve a signal propagation rate of 800 V/µs minimum, and a start transition time of 1.8 ns.

The device also features a 2-kV peak ESD-protected digital output, and ISOWAIT input wait signal for optimized data rates.Lastly, the ADUM1286BRZ is equipped with a number of fail-safety systems to ensure that the processed data is safe and reliable.
