Working Principle

The ADUM1301WTRWZ35-RL digital isolator consists of a very low power CMOS digital isolator IC and two inductors connected in series. The inductors couple the device with the isolation transformer which provide the galvanic isolation between primary and output side. The device also comes with selectable output under voltage lockout (UVLO) for improved system reliability.When input at the primary side is given, the device passes the digital signal through the digitally controlled high-frequency pulse-width modulation (PWM) isolator. The PWM technology works by turning the signal on and off quickly at a rate that cannot be perceived. This results in energy savings and allows this isolator to work with low power consumption. The output section of the IC steps down the analog signal from the primary side to the lower voltage level for isolated data transmission. The device also has a standby mode, which enables automatic power down of the device when it is not transmitting data or power.
