The ADV7180BSTZ-REEL is a monochromatic, high-performance broadcast receiver for Digital Television, MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 compliant systems. Working Principle

ADV7180BSTZ-REEL adopts an advanced VideoDecoderwith Automatic Gain Control(AGC) architecture. It comprises several stages, such as Automatic Gain Control (AGC), cross-color cancellation, automatic tracking loop, temporal filter, while providing a high degree of flexibility, excellent picture quality and various power saving features. It also offers advanced video processing functions such as adjustable video brightness, contrast and saturation.

The device is equipped with an automatic gain control stage to make up for the noisy components in the incoming video signal. This makes sure that the video signal is normalized and free from noise. After that stage, there is the cross color canceller that takes care of the luminance and color components of the incoming signal. The automatic tracking loop ensures that the device tracks the incoming signal perfectly. A temporal filter then reduces any temporal noise.

The ADV7180BSTZ-REEL chip provides excellent picture quality for Digital Television systems. It is designed to operate within the wide frequency range required for DTV systems.
