The PGA is responsible for signal amplification. It provides an adjustable gain in the range of 0-1000 times. It is possible to obtain greater signal amplitude and louder signal by increasing the gain, making the signal more distinguishable in certain applications such as ECG, EEG and respiration signal.

The MUX helps to ensure that noise is kept within acceptable range. With multiple input channels, it allows signal from different channels to be sampled simultaneously at the same time which greatly improved signal accuracy.

The LPM supports power shut down for channels that are not in use, providing power saving feature for applications powered by battery. It also provides an automatic power up feature. When signal is detected. All active channels will be powered up automatically.

The ADC performs the actual signal acquisition and converts the analog signal into digital signal. It is connected to the PLL via SPI (Serial Peripheral Interface).
