Working Principle of the AH293-YG-13

The AH293-YG-13 operates via pulse-width modulation (PWM). The used voltage is set using an external resistor, and the required speed is programmed using an external RC network that sets the switching frequency. When the voltage increases, the off-state duration time of the PWM increases and the opposite happens when the voltage decreases. The FET driver circuit is used to switch the output transistors on and off with a PWM signal, depending on the applied voltage.

The FET driver circuit uses two NMOS transistors which are connected in a half-bridge configuration. The FET circuit is driven by PWM signals generated in the IC, so that when the PWM pulse is high, the bottom NMOS transistor is driven on to pass the current through, and when the PWM pulse is low, the top NMOS transistor is driven off to block the current. This helps in controlling the electric current passing through the motor and regulating the speed.

In addition, the AH293-YG-13 provide over current protection and under voltage protection which help in protecting the motor by reducing the current when the overload or under voltage protection thresholds are reached.
