The AL9901FDF-13 also features a Serial Digital Interface (SDI) for integrated control and monitoring. Using this SDI, the user can configure the pulse width modulation (PWM) parameters, set the output current of each output individually, and also adjust the disconnection lower limit. The external PWM frequency can be up to 4MHz, and the typical rise-time is less than 40ns. Furthermore, the device can be synchronized with a clock signal, allowing the adjustment of PWM parameters and current settings all in sync with the external clock.

In addition, the integrated protection features provide comprehensive protection for the integrated circuits and LEDs. The device features an undervoltage lockout (UVLO) and overvoltage protection (OVP), as well as output short circuit protection, open LED protection and thermal protection.
