AMS001-E01 application field and working principle
The AMS001-E01 electrical motor evaluation board is a comprehensive evaluation device for robust brushless motor control using six full-bridge and half-bridge drivers. The AMS001-E01 contains its own on-board processor which communicates with various measurement and control devices and executes numerous functions using the available firmware. An on-board, 2-channel, 1-Ω low-side current sensing signal conditioner is also included.The AMS001-E01 is a multi-function system evaluation board which is capable of real-time, programmable minimal and maximal limits, current measurement, counter balancing, brushless motor control, on-board display, speed and acceleration control, torque control, back-EMF detection, and many more. It has been designed to provide many of the functions necessary to analyze and develop effective brushless motor designs with a cost-effective electronic design.The AMS001-E01 uses advanced power semiconductor technology to provide unprecedented speed, accuracy, and flexibility in controlling motor performance and operation. In order to achieve robust power performance and accuracy, the board uses six full-bridge and two half-bridge drivers to provide an effective current loop for motor control. The onboard microcontroller executes the controller software, which simplifies programming for different motor control designs and allows precise control of the individual motors to optimize system performance.The on-board microcontroller is programmed and operated via the included USB port. On-board display, back-EMF detection, and digital signal processing capabilities are also available with the standard package. The board also supports field-oriented control to further maximize motor efficiency and speed.During operation, the AMS001-E01 is capable of sensing the position of the motor and changing the direction of movement accordingly. This capability improves motor efficiency and reduces the mechanical power losses due to inertia. On-board performance analysis tools allow for accurate measurements of system performance under varying conditions and, thus, provide useful data for research and development.The AMS001-E01 also contains both closed-loop and open-loop speed control features, which help to optimize motor performance in different motor applications. Additionally, the included on-board digital signal processor (DSP) allows for improved power phase optimization for greater system efficiency.The AMS001-E01 evaluation board is designed to accommodate a wide variety of applications and to allow flexibility in programming and control.
