AP2401SN-7 is a Low-Dropout (LDO) regulator with a maximum output current of 500mA. It is available in SOT-23-7 foot print. AP2401SN-7 operates from 2.6V to 6.0V and provides an output voltage range from 2.0V to 4.0V. It is suitable for load transient response, load regulation and low ESR.

Working Principle

Once the input voltage is lowered, the gate-source voltage decreases and thus the current flowing through the pass transistor decreases as well, resulting in a lowered output voltage.A current-limiting feature is also available in our AP2401SN-7 that senses current through a resistor and shuts down the device if the current reaches a safe limit. This limit is determined by a threshold voltage set through a top or bottom resistor which is connected to the voltage supply of the pass transistor.Additionally, the AP2401SN-7 includes biasing circuitry to maintain a constant gate-source voltage when operating in either high or low loads. This feature helps to provide a fast and accurate response to changing input and output voltage as well as giving maximum stability for future applications.
