AP431ARG-7 is a voltage reference product from PMIC - Voltage Reference. It is designed for providing high precision voltage output signals with low voltage ripple and noise. This voltage reference can be used for wide variety of applications such as for powering and controlling DC-DC converters, LCD displays, multi-channel regulation, dual output and standby power supply, etc.

AP431ARG-7 is a monolithic bandgap voltage reference. This voltage reference consists of integrated amplifier, bandgap voltage reference and voltage output stage. The chip is designed with correlation between the supply voltage and the output voltage so that the output voltage is independent of the supply voltage. This voltage reference delivers a maximum output voltage of 2.67V with an output current that can reach up to 10mA. The temperature coefficient of the output voltage is very low and it is of 30ppm/ºC only. This voltage reference is capable of providing very good stability and its typical output voltage drift can be as low as 0.40mV/ºC.

This monolithic bandgap voltage reference also offers excellent dynamic operational characteristics. It is capable of providing instantaneous step change of up to 10V in the output voltage with a maximum settling time of 10μs. The voltage output stage consists of an over-temperature centroid loop that helps the bandgap voltage reference to track the temperature changes in the range of -40°C to 125°C. This makes the device very robust and suitable for different application environments. It also offers an ultra-fast response time of 5ns which helps in providing fast transient response and high accuracy.

The major application of AP431ARG-7 is for powering and controlling DC-DC converters. Apart from providing precise and well regulated voltage output, the voltage output stage of this voltage reference offers a maximum vertical overdrive of 15V and a current limit of 10mA.
