The APDS-9120-020 is an ambient light, infrared, and ultraviolet (UV) sensor. This single-chip device uses a high-sensitivity and spectrally selective CMOS photodiode with an advanced signal processing and control architecture. Utilizing its integrated 16-bit ADC, this sensor is able to accurately measure light intensity of up to 16 bits and is capable of driving up to 3 Leds in parallel and is ideal for light sensing applications such as cell phone cameras, tablets, and other mobile devices.The APDS-9120-020 uses advanced signal processing to measure ambient light, infrared light and ultraviolet radiation spectrums in order to offer a highly advanced light sensing solution. This sensor uses a spectrally selective CMOS photodiode array which operates on a wide range of light spectrums. With its spectral sensing architecture, it is able to accurately measure the UV, IR and visible light intensity and is capable of driving up to 3 LEDs in parallel.The APDS-9120-020 also includes digital signal processing (DSP) which enables its intelligent operation and the ability for multiple characteristics such as ambient light level, illuminance, and other lighting parameters can be accurately measured. This allows for improved reliability and accuracy when it comes to sensing light of different spectrums. Additionally, the APDS-9120-020 also supports up to 64 discreet output modes which enable the device to be versatile and customizable for applications that may require specific settings or parameters.The APDS-9120-020 includes a wide variety of features and on-chip FIR filters that can be used to further extend the utility of the device. This sensor can be configured to measure the UV index, detect flicker, and extend a range of ambient light level measurements. Moreover, the device also features a low-power mode which enables operation at low power while providing increased sensitivity and accuracy.The APDS-9120-020 provides a unique combination of high sensitivity, accuracy, and precision for the detection and measurement of ambient light, infrared, and ultraviolet spectrums.
