ARN30A12Z is a 40 A, SPST-NO (single pole single throw normally open) RF relay designed specifically for high current, high frequency applications. ARN30A12Z has an input battery which powers the electronic contact control system and the electromagnetic control system. The N/O (normally open) contact can be switched instantly with a positive 12 VDC, and then returns to the N/O state when the input power is removed or interrupted. The input circuitry consumes only a few milliamps, so it can be powered from low current sources such as batteries, transistors, ICs, or other signal sources. The maximum load current and operating frequency depend on the use environment. It is suitable for switching resistive loads, including Amplifier Circuits, Antenna Switches, and Power RF Amplifier Control.

The electromagnetic control system comprises an armature, a permanent magnet, and an electromagnet. When the electric current is supplied to the control pin of the relay, the electromagnet is energized and the armature is pulled inward by the magnetic force, which in turn will close the N/O contact. When the electric current to the control pin is removed, the armature automatically returns to the original position due to the resilient force of a return spring and the N/O contact is opened again. This cycle can be repeated for up to 10 million times.
