Evaluation board includes a comprehensive selection of power components, including pre-set reference, driver, compensation components, DCP-FS filter, and power MOSFETs to demonstrate the device’s performance and features in typical applications.</p><h2>Application Field</h2><p>The board is intended for use in evaluating the different characteristics of the AS3606 power supply controller in various AC-DC or DC-DC switching power supplies. Typical applications include, but are not limited to, high-efficiency isolated power supplies, high current LED driver, AC-DC and DC-DC power supply.</p><h2>Working Principle</h2><p>AS3606 Evaluation Board allows users to easily evaluate the different characteristics of the AS3606 switching power supply controller. The input and output power components feature on-board selection and are preset on the board. The board includes power MOSFETs, pre-set feedback resistors, compensation components, DCP-FS filtered, control and protection features, as well as an on-board, full-wave bridge rectifier, to demonstrate the device’s performance and features in typical applications.</p><p>The board operates in either continuous conduction mode (CCM) or discontinuous conduction mode (DCM). In CCM mode, the MOSFET drain-source voltage (Vds) is regulated, while in DCM mode the capacitor current (Ic) to fluctuates with the line voltage. The active loop of the controller is evaluated with the use of the on-board loop compensation components to ensure good stability over a wide range of loads. The DCP-FS filter helps in the mitigation of radiated EMI.</p><p>The control and protection features of the AS3606 can be easily evaluated with the AS3606 Evaluation Board. It includes under-voltage lock-out, over temperature and over current protections. On-board current sense resistors allow the user to monitor the output current.
