AS3650-BCTP is an AEC-Q100 qualified integrated power management integrated circuit (IPM) designed for automotive and consumer applications. This advanced power management device offers an innovative solution for the ever-increasing complexity and miniaturization requirements in today\'s automotive and consumer applications. The AS3650-BCTP combines a high-end buck regulator, a low-dropout (LDO) regulator, a low-current gate driver, and a number of low-voltage control functions. This integration not only simplifies the design process, but also provides a cost-effective and space-efficient solution for designers.

The AS3650-BCTP is designed to provide low-dropout DC-DC conversion and system power supply management for 2x12V automotive and consumer applications. This IPM includes an integrated buck regulator, an adjustable low-voltage LDO regulator, a low-current gate driver, and an integrated supervisory circuit for system level power-up and power-down control. The buck regulator provides an adjustable input voltage range from 5.0V to 24V with an adjustable output voltage range from 0.95V to 6.5V. The LDO regulator also provides an adjustable output voltage range from 0.95V to 5.0V.

The AS3650-BCTP also features a low-current gate driver that is used to turn on and off external Mosfet switches. The integrated gate driver is designed to drive up to 50mA of gate current, allowing it to drive small MOSFETs with fast switching times. Additionally, the onboard supervisory circuit allows for system power-on and power-down control and enables external components for low-voltage protection or auto-restart interval configuration.

The key features of the AS3650-BCTP applicatoin include a low quiescent current of less than 70µA, programmable switching frequency up to 2 MHz, fast transients response, soft-start and tracking features, adjustable over-voltage protection, current limit protection and optional external remote shutdown capability. In addition, it is also compliant with III-V automotive and consumer grade requirements.

The AS3650-BCTP operates in three distinct modes: Buck, Buck-Boost, and Low-Dropout (LDO) mode. In Buck mode, the buck regulator operates in a continuous conduction mode (CCM) to efficiently convert input voltages up to 24V to a pre-set lower voltage. In Buck-Boost mode, the buck regulator switches from CCM to discontinuous conduction mode (DCM) as the input voltage drops below the pre-set output voltage. The LDO mode allows for adjustable tracking and activation of an external Mosfet switch.

The AS3650-BCTP is suitable for many automotive and consumer applications, including navigation systems, media players, automotive SPi batteries, LCD and LED displays, small form factor PCs, and cellphones. It can support a wide range of input and output voltages, making it an ideal solution for applications that require high efficiency and low power consumption.
