The AT–1740–TT–3–R is a tone generator designed to provide audible warnings for industrial, medical, fire alarm, security, and other similar system applications. This type of alarm is specifically designed for applications that require the use of higher sound output levels. It is also highly efficient in conserving power while producing high output levels.

The AT–1740–TT–3–R’s design allows for the alarm to produce sounds up to a peak of 118 dB at 1 metre. It can be powered by either 12Vdc or 24 Vac and is designed to ensure long operation with excellent sound quality. With a frequency range of 300 to 2300 Hz, the alarm is suitable for most applications. Additionally, the AT–1740–TT–3–R is easy to install and maintain, allowing almost anyone to install, replace, or service the alarm.

The working principle of the AT–1740–TT–3–R is based on the Piezoelectric Effect. This effect is used to produce electrical energy from mechanical energy, or vice versa, enabling sound detection and generation. Thus, by applying mechanical stress to a Piezoelectric element, such as a ceramic, quartz, or other similar material, an electric charge is created. This electric charge is then converted to audible sound by an amplifier and speaker.

In the case of the AT–1740–TT–3–R, the Piezoelectric element is placed in close proximity to a precision milled wave-guide. The Piezoelectric element then creates a vibration, which is activated when the alarm is triggered. This vibration is then focused by the wave-guide, providing a louder, more focused sound wave to be emitted by the alarm. This high-quality sound is amplified by the amplifier and speaker, producing a loud audible alarm.

Therefore, with the AT–1740–TT–3–R, users are given a loud, high-quality, and practical alarm for industrial, medical, fire alarm, security, and other applications. Its built-in Piezoelectric element and tuned wave-guide help to create a focused sound, providing a louder and more accurate alarm.
