The AT25128T1-10TI-2.7 is a non-volatile, 32K serial Electrically Erasable Programmable Read-Only Memory (EEPROM) from Atmel Corporation. It is specifically designed for automotive applications that require robust long-term data storage of up to 32K bytes of information. The AT25128T1-10TI-2.7 is organized as 4,096 words of 8 bits each, internally. The AT25128T1-10TI-2.7 EEPROM can be used in a wide range of automotive electronic applications. These include: engine management systems, body control systems, diagnostics and immobilizers, navigation systems, and infotainment systems. The device supports multiple automotive applications and requirements, and it is characterized for operation over the –40°C to 125°C temperature range and has increased voltage tolerance for both program/erase (18V) and device read operations (12V).Working Principle
The AT25128T1-10TI-2.7 utilizes a regulated memory cell architecture, which provides excellent write/erase cycles and data retention properties that are initially understood to provide over 107 cycles and a retention of over 100 years at 25°C.The device\'s operation begins with the device being selected via the chip select (CS). Upon CS being asserted and a valid address being present at the address pins, the device is able to read data or receive a write command. Depending on the command received, the device either reads or writes data.When reading data, the device computes a new CRC whenever the current address crosses a page boundary, which is the equivalent of 512 bytes or sixty-four words. This CRC computed is compared to the internal register and a status response byte is output to the data lines, with a bit indicating the PASS / FAIL result of the comparison.When writing data, the device first verifies that the data being written is valid. If valid, the data being written is programmed into the device. Any time the device is placed in the write mode, the data being written is protected.Erasing the device requires an erase command from the data lines. Upon the erase command, the device is placed in the erase mode which erases the entire device. The device can also be programmed and erased in blocks of 64 bytes instead of individual bytes.The AT25128T1-10TI-2.7 requires only a few external components to operate, including an external crystal and two or three resistors.
