ATAB5754 Application Field and Working Principle

The ATAB5754 is an integrated radio frequency (RF) evaluation and development kit, board. It is specifically designed to enable quick evaluation of applications such as 802.11a/ac, GSM-EDGE, GPRS, Bluetooth, and Wireless USB. This board is also able to work with evaluation kits and antenna prototypes validating ultra-high performance in applications and products.The ATAB5754\'s RF architecture is based on a Direct-Conversion Digital Receiver Architecture that operates from 1GHz to 6GHz with a minimum channel bandwidth of up to 100MHz. The board is designed to work with the latest third-generation (3G) cellular technology, which makes use of a wide range of protocols, such as GSM-EDGE, GPRS, and Bluetooth. It also works with 802.11a/ac to evaluate next-generation wireless LANs operabilty in various applications. The board contains a comprehensive set of radio components to support the following evaluation, development and production tasks: ATAB-5754 radio chip, WiFi module, power management and clock control, RF conditions analysis and antennas, RF signal conditioning, signal-to-noise ratio and power measurements, and the wireless stack software. The ATAB-5754 contains several features that help reduce cost and time related to developing an RF product including embedded LTE-FDD and GSM/EDGE, WiFi Direct support, two independent transmit channels, VCO frequency synthesis, spectrum analyzer, power meter, and signal generator.The ATAB-5754 is highly integrated with various functional blocks and modules that support various bands of RF. This includes the Analog Front End (AFE) and Radio Frequency (RF) Blocks along with a spectrum analyzer and signal generator.The Analog Front-end (AFE) module of the ATAB-5754 consists of several components such as Digital Pre-Distortion (DPD) circuitry, Nonlinear Processing Units (NPUs), and the Power Management Unit (PMU). These components control and monitor the RF transmitter and receiver. DPD circuitry helps reduce intermodulation products while precise bit-level control of transmit power helps maintain line-of-sight communication link.The ATAB-5754 RF blocks allow for the evaluation and development of RF products that require minimal gain control, excellent signal linearity, or high-precision signal sampling.
