ATECC108A-SSHDA-B, a specialized cryptographic IC, is a secure element designed for dual authentication and cryptographic functionalities. It samples on a variety of platforms and implements an authentication model that makes use of a public key, a private key and a set of custom attributes. ATECC108A-SSHDA-B can be used with a variety of standard cryptography protocols, including TLS,SSL, and SSH.ATECC108A-SSHDA-B consists of a 32Kb EEPROM with 256-bit eFUSE secured against physical tampering, and is designed to resist common attacks such as side-channel and fault injection. The ATECC108A-SSHDA-B also includes processor, memory and memory security functions. It contains a high-performance FIPS-validated core with various cryptographic and authentication algorithms as well as a low-power SHA/HMAC/Hash accelerator.The ATECC108A-SSHDA-B is designed for use in myriad applications, and it has been certified for dual authentication and cryptography functions in payment and identification transactions, authentication for access control systems, digital signature and data encryption applications, as well as applications that require secure communication protocols and digital signatures.The main working principle of the ATECC108A-SSHDA-B is to use the security chip to perform AES encryption and authentication in the authentication process.When authentication is requested by the server, the client and the server exchange a challenge message, and the chip will use the public and private key stored in the chip to generate a message authentication code (MAC) for the challenge and return the MAC to the server. The server checks the MAC and verifies the authenticity of the client.In the process of encrypting data, the chip performs an AES encryption based on a secret key stored in the chip. This encrypted data can then be used for secure communication between the client and the server.
