The ATS169-E crystal is designed as an oscillator that produces a high frequency pulse with a frequency range of 4.45MHz to 4.56MHz. The application field of ATS169-E crystal is wide, such as automotive electronics, home appliance, and industrial control.
The working principle of ATS169-E crystal is based on piezoelectric effect. Piezoelectric effect means that under the action of external electric field, the crystalline material will deform and bend slightly to generate a displacement current. By making use of piezoelectric effect, the ATS169-E crystal is able to generate high frequency signal with low power consumption.
When the external electric field is applied to the ATS169-E crystal, two electrodes are placed on the two faces of the crystal respectively. Piezoelectric effect will cause the crystalline material to deform slightly, and the displacing ions will lead to a displacement current among the two electrodes. This displacement current will cause an increase in the potential difference. Energized by AC power, an oscillating current will be generated and runs through the electrodes, thus forming an oscillating circuit to produce high frequency pulse.
In addition, the ATS169-E crystal is protected by a zero-conductive coating, which can shield the crystal from electrostatic damage. This type of zero-conductive coating not only protects the crystal from electrostatic damage but also maximized the resonance performance.
To reach its full potential, the ATS169-E crystal needs to be tuned to the specified frequency or oscillation frequency. This is done by adjusting the mechanical stress applied to the crystal. To increase the specific frequency, the mechanical stress applied must be increased. However, to reduce the operating frequency, the mechanical stress has to be relaxed.
