It utilizes the Elliptic Curve Digital Signature Algorithm (ECDSA) to authenticate an individual device or user. The device is configured to generate an Elliptic Curve Private key and a corresponding Elliptic Curve public key which can then be stored in the device.When performing authentication, a challenge is generated by the authentication server and sent to the device which is then encrypted by the Elliptic Curve public key stored in the device. The encrypted challenge is then sent back to the authentication server which can then verify the authenticity of the device by decrypting the challenge message with the corresponding private key stored in the device.
