Evaluation and Demonstration Boards and Kits are generally used to provide basic support and operation for development, evaluation and handson learning of products or services. One particular example is the AVCLVCDIRCNTRL-EVM, a low-cost, low-power Evaluation Module (EVM). This EVM module provides a complete hardware platform to evaluate the features and capabilities of Analog Devices’ AVC/LVC family of automotive switches.
At the heart of the AVCLVCDIRCNTRL-EVM is a pair of programmable AVC/LVC analog switch controllers. These controllers are used to control the directionality of grounded load paths in an automotive power switch. This can be done in a variety of ways, including manual mode, semi- or fully-automated continuous switching, and partial or full-immobilization. The AVCLVCDIRCNTRL-EVM also provides integrated motion control functionality, allowing for precise control of the individual switch direction and directionality, as well as for remote operation via a serial port. This capability is perfect for use in applications that require the switching of intricate automotive networks. The EVM also features several power management features that enable efficient operation of the EVM and the connected load. These features include power management, over-current protection, steady-state and start-up output current, electronic-over-current protection (EOCP) and serial configuration via an I2C, SMBus or USB port.
