Power over Ethernet (PoE) is an innovative technology which enables both power and Ethernet data to be transmitted over one single cable. It is commonly used for powering IP telephones, wireless access points, security cameras, network hubs, and many other electronic components. Cameras, however, require higher amounts of power and will require either 802.3at (PoE+) or 802.3bt (Ultra PoE).
