The AXE316124 is a rectangular connector array, edge type mezzanine board to board connector. As the connector type has become standard in the industry, this connector is an ideal solution for many applications where high-reliability and stability of the power and signal connections are critical.Unlike many other connectors, the AXE316124 has been specifically designed to ensure that the power and signal connections are held secure in the most demanding environments. The connector has a highly reliable contact system, which ensures that each connection is protected from vibration, shock, and moisture. Additionally, it has an integral locking mechanism which helps to keep the connection constants secure.The other features which make the AXE316124 ideal for use in a variety of applications are: a wide temperature range, up to a maximum of 120°C; a low insertion force; and a 4-way pitch of 2.54mm. The AXE316124 is designed to connect two compatible boards that are typically parallel and perpendicular to one another. The device can also connect two boards that are parallel to one another but not perpendicular. The AXE316124 is divided into four parts, with each portion offering a different capability. The first part is the shielding shell which is designed to provide EMC protection at the connector level. The second part is the mating section which consists of the contact system and is designed to ensure proper alignment between the two boards. The third part is the receptacle section which interfaces with the mating section and provides secure mechanical latching in combination with the locking mechanism of the connector. Finally, the fourth part is the socket section which houses the contact system. The contact system of the AXE316124 consists of 14 pins which are arranged in four rows and three columns. The pins are organized in 5-8-1-2 array and are 0.8mm in diameter. The 14 pins are divided into two sections, with the 8 inner pins providing power connections and the other 6 pins providing signal connections. The contact system is capable of carrying a current up to 2.5A and is rated at 250VAC. The AXE316124 also features an optional shutter system which provides protection from dust and water. The shutter system is initiated when two boards are mated and closes after the mating process. The AXE316124 is an ideal solution for many applications where robust connections are required in harsh environments. With its excellent reliability and stability, it is a very popular connector for industries such as automotive and industrial automation.
