The AZ431LBZTR-E1 uses a conventional bandgap reference circuit, which works by creating a voltage reference by means of a voltage differential between two or more cascaded bipolar transistors. The voltage added by the base-emitter junction of one of the transistors is slightly offset from the voltage decreased by the base-emitter junction of the other.The minimum voltage of this rail-to-rail voltage difference is established by the biasing current, typically defined in the 1.225μA range. This small current source is the one that maintains the AZ431LBZTR-E1’s excellent temperature stability which typically amounts to 1mV/°C.The main features of the AZ431LBZTR-E1 that make it stand out are its low power consumption (typically 500nA), high accuracy of +-0.5% and low offset voltage of < 1mV.
