The B522-2T is a high temperature Thyristor Module which can be used in applications where precise power control is required. It is primarily used as a switch or control element in switching power supplies, motor drives, power controllers and other power applications. The module is rated to operate at up to 300ºC. It has a rated voltage of 1600V and a maximum on-state current of 25A.

The module is made up of two SCRs (Silicon Controlled Rectifiers) mounted onto a single insulated heatsink base. The base is comprised of aluminum oxide along with silicone rubber insulating sleeves to provide flame retardance. The SCRs are housed in a separate encapsulation and the heatsink base is made of tin-plated copper. The package is designed to be a one-stop solution for controlling power circuits and offers a variety of features.

The B522-2T module has a automatic current sharing circuits to ensure even current distribution amongst parallel connected thyristors, a control circuit for ease of connection and a snubber circuit for efficient dynamic break. The module also features a built-in current limiter, an active breaker and a surge withstand capability of up to 4kV.

The B522-2T module is designed to switch high speed dynamic loads and is capable of providing precise current and voltages control in applications such as PWM (pulse width modulation) switched power supplies and motor drives. The module is also suitable for high speed control with excellent commutation properties. The module also features a short circuit current limiting capability which can be adjusted externally or with a software program.

The working principle of the B522-2T module is based on a SCR (Silicon Controlled Rectifier) switching mechanism. The device switches on and off very fast at an adjustable current level when triggered by a gate signal. When an electrical current is applied to the gate terminal at a certain voltage, the thyristor turns on and allows current to flow through the SCR. When the gate is disconnected, the thyristor turns off and current stops flowing.
