PTC Resettable Fuses are used to protect devices, circuits, and systems against overcurrent and overvoltage problems. This is accomplished by providing an automatic electrical disconnect when a pre-determined level of current or voltage is exceeded.
The B59673A0100B110 is a PTC Resettable Fuse, specifically designed to protect electronic circuits against overcurrent faults from transients and short circuits. This type of fuse is based on the resistive heating principle and works in three phases. Firstly, the fuse senses the current moving through it and the temperature inside the fuse starts to increase. Secondly, when the temperature inside the fuse reaches the actuation temperature (at a maximum current), the fuse trips and interrupt the current flow. Finally, the fuse cools down and the current can flow again.
