Common Mode Chokes (CMCs) are power line filters designed to reduce EMI (electromagnetic interference). The B82523TE5 is a common mode choke offering high performance filtering of common mode noise on AC and DC power lines.

The B82523TE5 line of CMCs start from 854mH inductance to 8700µH. It offers good suppression of ripple on DC power lines and common mode noise on AC power lines, with large inductance values. Its rated operating temperature range is -40°C to +125°C, making it suitable for use in a variety of environments and/or extreme conditions. Each of the B82523TE5 CMCs consists of two separately wound ferrite beads, connected together via an inner wire conductor. The outer dimension of the two ferrite beads is 4.7mm in outer diameter and 2.8mm in height. The printed winding on each bead is designed to be continuous, giving a low DC resistance and a good high-frequency response. The internal wire conductor provides isolation and a safe separation of both the enclosure and the inner wire.

CMCs such as the B82523TE5 are designed to work by limiting the amount of common mode RF noise coming from a power line.
