BCD380P475C1K2A30 is a type of evaluation board from DC/DC & AC/DC off-line SMPS category, which is designed for testing, developmental and prototyping various switching power supplies. It is especially suitable for the industrial, medical and lab applications.

Generally, the BCD380P475C1K2A30 evaluation boards are based on single-stage topologies. It include synchronous buck, synchronous boost and flyback topologies, in which the switching regulator have integrated power switches, internal compensation components and many programmable features. Its input voltage ranges from 90VAC to 370VAC, and output voltage could be adjustable from 1.25V to 475V. Its wide output voltage settings make it an ideal for many applications.

The BCD380P475C1K2A30 equipment offers an exceptional performance as compared to other evaluation boards by providinghigh switching frequency, low-noise operation, low parts count and very low component cost.

The working principle of the BCD380P475C1K2A30 evaluation board essentially depends on the switching regulator used. The topology used is either synchronous buck, synchronous boost or flyback. In synchronous buck, the high side switch, low side switch and diode used in the circuit are controlled by the pulse width modulated (PWM) signals. When the high side switch is turned ON, the input voltage is applied across the buck regulator\'s input capacitor. When the low side switch is turned ON, the input voltage is reversed on the inductor and the output of the inductor is used to supply the load. In between the two switch periods, diode turns ON to allow current to pass and maintain the load voltage.

In the synchronous boost topology, the switches on the both sides of the inductor are turned ON at the same time. The input Voltage is applied across the input capacitor. When both switches are turned ON, the inductor starts storing energy. When the switches are turned OFF, the stored energy in the inductor is used to supply the load. The output voltage is higher than the input voltage.

In the flyback topology, a single switch is used, which is controlled using PWM signals. When the switch is turned ON, the inductor start storing energy and when it is turned OFF, the stored energy being supplied to the load. An auxiliary winding is used to supply the gate drive circuit.

The BCD380P475C1K2A30 evaluation boards are ideally used in various industrial, medical and laboratory applications such as ATE, motor control, lighting, laser diode drivers, medical imaging and power factor correction systems. It provides high efficiency, low noise operation, high output accuracy and wide output voltage settings.
